get yourself spare light bulbs and a torch for when the power or a fuse trips. also equip yourself with a full toolkit from a monkey wrench to mini screwdrivers, a hammer and selection of nails. Oh, and don't forget to lock all windows and doors.

insurance doesn't really work that way... they only insure what you actualy house is worth... not the land it's on.
my house is insured for approx. 33% of what i paid for it.
cause the land is what's valuable.

our house is insured for replacement value... which is way higher than the actual value

-pave the yard so you don't have to mowe it
-kill all yours and your neighbors trees so you don't have to rake leaves
-setup a wireless network, if they haven't finished the drywall, run cat-5 to all rooms and hub it up in the basement
-also hardwire dolby 7.1 surround

DON'T GET A SWIMMING POOL (unless you can hire a pool boy) they are a money pit pain in the ass.

my insurance company just dropped me.... or did not offer renewal. they weren't happy when they drove by.
so i gotta shut down the meth lab till i get my insurance back.
