The best thing they are doing over there is saving each other's asses from getting killed, and American troops shouldn't have to do that. They're meant for better and nobler things - not some egotrippin' of corrupt politicians.

no offense, but "supporting your troops" is the biggest fucking "remote clicking, couch sitting bullshit" activity you can take place in. like really, what the hell are you going to do for our troops? do you think the magnetic yellow ribbons on back of thousands of proud hick's gas (read: the impetus of middle eastern wars) guzzling suvs are going to save any lives?

Four years ago we had the best trained, best equipped, best disciplined military on the freakin' planet. They took Afghanistan out in a few weeks - something that the brits at the height of empire couldn't due, and bled the soviets dry. Now the whole machine is falling apart...
They deserved a leader of merit and a mission of distinction - and they are getting shafted in Iraq. See what's happening to Veteran's med benefits lately?
In about two years there are going to be lots of very angry Vets floating around...
Anyway, I still give credit to Jessica for going over there doing her bit and having the nerve to say "Hey, where'd my footage go?" in the press...
