okay, food is better in nyc. also i think women are hotter in nyc too. london is great, but i'd rather live in nyc.

Shame that Londoners go outside at the weekend and not worry about inane threads!

generally generalizing i generally don't like. so here's a correction: british design to me is more interesting than american design. this has nothing to do with hate. i live in ny and i lived in london. you know, there are differences btw dutch design and 'american' design, or btw swiss and japanese design (althought they come very close at times) etc. sorry if some of you are not aware of design differences. and there is not a right or wrong answer...this is just my opinion and i would have loved to hear yours.

please stop, you're comparing amateurs not professionals in both cases.
- jdcomba0
isn't it all opinion anyways?

I find NYC and London are pretty much on par. The real groundbreaking work comes from Zurich, Berlin and Tokyo, tho.
Regardless, however, grouping design by region is pretty antequated. there are some great nyc firms influenced by london design and vice versa.

does design not look fresh and different when looking at stuff outside your circle?

We all have different taste of designs. So nothing to compare about....some will say yeah London based designers bring new ideas, same in NYC.

Within the recent design annuals, it seems the best work has been coming out of Southern California. At least in my opinion.

All I could think of is "you can't say that, just on the ones you know".
No?
