Looking through my old vinyl collection last night.
It's mainly stuff from late 80's/90's, most of which is 'indie/dance'.
I pick this record up 'Step On' by Happy Mondays, then I realise there was something funny about this record.
The record is supposed to have two different mixes of that track, one on either side. On my version, it has one version of 'Step On' and on the reverse it has...
wait for it...
JASON FUCKIN' DONOVAN!!!
At the end of the grooves at the inside of the record, near the label there's nearly always an inscription of the record companies catalogue number or something like that.
One side says FAC 272, on the reverse it has inscribed; PWL (as in Pete Waterman Limited)!!!!
Do I have a rare 'mistake' or a crock of shite, is it worth any money and how would I find out?
Any ideas?

that seems pretty rare or intentioanl considering how records are produced. c`ontact the label and ask them.
although they are all probably off their face on crack.

Sadly, Factory Records is no longer...
The story of Factory Records is told in the film 24 Hour Party People

Factory Records was the birthplace of Peter Saville (most of you will already know this).

Not being a Jason fan, I'm not sure what track it is. I have an old turntable/record player, but when I plugged it into my amp... nothing!
At the time when I bought the record I played that side, realised what it was and flipped it over sharpish, never to be played again.
I'll have to have a look, see if there's any small clues inscribed in the vinyl.
A serial/catalogue number or something...

There was a FAC record shop in the northern quarter of Manchester, but they have just shut down as well..
mayeb they could have told you?maybe try some other record shops like piccadilly records?

Cheers Mfelt, I'll google for some 'unofficial' websites relating to Factory/Happy Mondays.
