I am a designer with close to 5 years experience but I'm looking for an entry-level position to expand my portfolio of design work with larger clients. I'm looking for both contract and full time opportunities.

check the employment section to the left. I saw a posting for sn designer position at Maclaren they have large clients.
i'm not sure why you want an entry position, you'll get fucked with the low wage! entry job is like $25k-30k or less.

so you do print?
- echolock0
Well, I'm not sure my portfolio is filled out enough to get a senior position.
Mr.Dinky: Not much print. Mostly design for the web. Interactive. I just applied at Blast Radius in Toronto.

have you guys tried doing cold calls? it might get depressing, but it's a good way of getting a direct answer instead of waiting for a job to land on your lap.
That's how I got my first job.

- echolock0
Yes, my work is old. I realize it needs an update. Any other thoughts?

Just pump out the resumes.
There are a lot of places in Toronto; might not be all that glamourous but it's work.
If anyone is looking to start in about 5 weeks there will be an opening at my current company. Junior/intermediate print - web.
Pay will probably be ass though....but if you're desperate send me your contact and I can tell you more.
- piperboytoy0
it helps to move to Toronto first and then look. or if you can't afford it. stay at a friend's place for a few weeks and seriously look. not just sit in front of your computer, but go find agencies and make contact with the right peeps.
