Cutting a long story short but how the hell do you uncompress files on a Mac.
I can't remember the type that it is but I'm sure its a compressed file, not a zip, can you get zip on Macs???
If somebody will be as kind to bitch slap me and point me in the right direction that woule be great. Much thanks.

Just control click or right click on the file (if you have a 2 button mouse) and select open with stuffit expander or expand.
Works on most compression formats including zip.

os x automatically recognizes zip and sit files.
also if you need to compress files you can just select them, right-click (ctrl+click) and select "create archive of..."
