I'm curious to know if there are any better than the built-in one in Flash.

AS = action script editor?
- Luckypp0
What's wrong with flash?
- imakedesign0
yes actionscript editor.
I use scite on windows, and its really helps me out, you can close all the functions down which makes it much easier to work with 1000+ lines of code.

I have been using TextMate from here:
http://www.macromates.com/it is a pretty decent text editor, with code folding and lots of customisable 'snippets'.
Although, it still has a very long way to go before it can compete with the likes of SE|PY. (in my opinion probably the best AS editor on Windows)
Unfortunately, SE|PY doesn't work too well on OS X and the installer hasn't been updated for a very long time:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/…You could also try XCode
there is a tutorial here on how to set it up for AS2.0

There are a few. I use BBEdit to do all my AS.

Amen to BBEdit!
I can't remember if it comes with the .as syntax color or if you have to add the module.

yeah _b_ is right, I forgot about Eclipse.
here is a tutorial on how to set it up:
http://osflash.org/doku.php?id=g…This is an Open Source way of creating SWF's.
I did have a play, but I found some aspects a little intimidating :s But maybe you will feel comfortable with it.
It seems to be mainly aimed at RIA development more than website development.
And I think Eclipse has recently been updated too (I wonder if it has code folding now?)
