Anyone done chapter 21 in the Flash to the Core Book?

i wanted to implement something like that in my flash, but i have vertically scrolling boxes instead of sideways, plus the flash coding was way over my head.
i say "was" cause I lent that book to a friend about a year ago and i haven't seen it since.
