LOL gruntt!
I'll tell you though, Astronauts will always be awesome. I looked at the profiles of each of the crew in the paper this morning - it's really so impressive to think about what they go through in the course of their careers to actually be able to do something like this. Very amazing.

hmmm...so when is the next launch? couple of weeks?

i agree mg. they are bad ass. I was all excited for today's launch. I had just brought up the live feed on the computer when I got a "CNN Breaking News" email that the launch had been scrubed. video and email were literally 2 seconds apart.

It's crazy to think, when Columbia happened, my GF and I had only been dating about 3 months, and were leaving that morning for a week vacation in Paris. It seems so long ago, and like we were just there.
It was very cool seeing and reading the French news and papers, plenty of coverage, and it was actually in Paris through their media that I got the gist of what happened.

So if you guys had a chance to go into space, would you?
I ask people this and I usually get about 50% who say they would and 50% who say they wouldn't.
Seems about right. I actually used to want to be an astronaut. But it's so much work and you have to be a genius. Plus I'd have to get laser-eye surgery.
This shuttle launch seems to keep having drawbacks. Bad omen?

I heard that the launch was scrapped because Shuttle Pilot James Kelly had leftover Mongolian Beef & Broccoli for breakfast (previous night's dinner, didn't want it to go to waste) and the rest of the shuttle crew protested about not wanting to be downwind from him in the cockpit at 3,000 miles an hour during takeoff.

lol mg!
a 3000 mph fart.
