Hey
can anyone recommend a cool tool
to make good looking 3d pie charts or any kind of graphs?
what do you use?

just whip one off in excel, and copy it into illustrator...(it copies as a vector graphic...)
excel will produce a nice 3d piechart, in about a zillion different ways....exploded, etc etc.
once you have the one you like, copy it to illus, and tweak to your hearts content..anyhow, thats what i do..
or just do the whol thing in illustrator...
:)cheers

Be sure to do a big graph in excel, because it contains a lot of points.
if you Import small graphs in ill and then scale them up, probably the strokes will be wavey (and you have to fix all the beziers)

definitely go out of excel so your sizes/proportions are accurate. the design limitations are pretty crude in excel.. you can't add gradient shades or anything like that... just mainly changing labels and selecting from their template styles

i think i'l build them completely in Illustrator...
i have a lot of charts to make, but i think i am on the safe side, because i know illustrator
