Got to cost/artwork flags for a client but I have no clue having never done them before. The client can't give me dimensions, only the height of the flagpole. The printer isn't giving me any steer on materials, even after I excplain the job.
Basically I need to do 2 flags, double sided, 1 colour, landscape, hanging from 8m flagpole, attached by rope.
Can anyone help? I need this done yesterday!!!
I'm not holding my breath though :/

isnt that just printing on fabric?
visit your local sign shop and they can help you out

if you need help with the comp/dimensions, do it in illustrator. i believe a flag is the same dimensions as a 11" wide by 8.5" tall piece of paper. once in illustrator the flag maker can scale it to the size needed.

I like the Lebanese pine tree one

can do a vector image with the size 6 inches by 4 inches. that will size accordingly to the size of a flag

i've done flags before. you can either get fabric printed, or you can get flags stitched. flags come in various ratios, for example a canadian flag is in a ratio of 2:1, a japanese flag is 7:10, USA is 10:19, check your yellow pages for a flag manufacturer. that's what i did. maybe i googled it.

Sound to me like it's a bit more complicated than just sizing though - the (unhelpful) print company says there are various materials and methods of attachment and simply won't give me any idea of size/proportion to an 8m flagpole.
Think I'll try a few other places first to see if they're any more helpful. Thanks for the info though.

That's what I thought as well until the woman laughed at me - cheeky cow. She was talking like I should know everything there is to know about flag production.

the most standard maybe is 2:3
