    * The job spec

    Overview:

    - Lead Web Developer
    - Candidate would liaise with potential clients in order to discover their requirements and needs
    - Produce proposals as per requirements and calculate costings accordingly
    - Produce technical specifications
    - Manage multiple projects and developers
    - Salary is commensurate with experience

    Range of responsibilities:

    - Guide other, remote developers
    - Vetting of remote developers code
    - Technical specifications for a project from functional requirements
    - Estimation of timescale to help plan appropriately
    - Responsible for accurate documentation and knowledge management through project bulletin board system.
    - Development of internal CMS framework for code reuse
    - Maintaining a library of code for company use
    - We need developers who can pick up where others have left off and likewise, write enough clean and simple documentation that will allow other developers to do the same.
    - Regular feedback to client

    * The person spec

    Skills & abilities:

    - A real interest in all things web
    - An obsession with clean, optimal, lean and well documented code would be a huge advantage
    - PHP & MySQL
    - Standards-compliant and strict XHTML & CSS
    - JavaScript
    Qualifications & experience:
    - Demonstration of talent will always be more important than experience
    - A similar job as a developer for a web agency would be advantageous
    - Minimum of 3 years development experience
    - Experience of CSS & XHTML coding would also be required
    - Management experience would be advantageous

    Character & personal qualities:

    - Personable and friendly
    - Enthusiastic about new technologies
    - Organised and efficient
    - A good command of the English language
    - Good customer relations

    yeah, skills and experience are very different from actual experience in the same area, i find.
