What the hell!?
I am doing flash banners on a Mac, they are set to go and suddenly they dont open on PC - at all!
All SWFs are published with html and are seen with their respective extensions (.swf, .html, .fla) in my Mac but in PC, not only do they not display the .swf extension, they just wont open or are recognized at all as flash files - even with flash player already installed on PC!
Whatever it is, its going on my list on why I can't work with macs.
Any theories, aside from the fact that Macs hate me?

how are you transfering to the pc? sometimes macs rip off the extensions so all you need to do is add .swf at the end and they will work again!

yeah, I added the extension on pc when it wasn't showing- it still didnt recognize it.
I usually just hit command+enter to see the swf, then I select publish - i've always done this on PC and never had a problem.
Thanx though.

Check the file sizes - are they the same? I don't know why you should do it but maybe it means something.

export the swf instead of using publish.

I've had problems when transferring through a unix server. something about stripping the resource fork... anyway try zipping the swf before moving it over to pc?

resource shouldn't matter for swf's. only thing i can think of it that you've set either windows or you mac to not use file extensions to associate to programs (i think they don't use them by default)
