I was speaking w/ my dad on the phone last night and he is all jacked to get a Smart after just recently being in Europe.
I saw one in Montreal a few weeks back and I heard something about a company in the bay area being the US distributor.
What's the skinny?

Yeah, they're all over here in the UK. Skinny?

Awesome mileage. Cute cars. They make alot of sense in Italy with the narrow streets.

My goodness, could America survive if its people started buying small cars that don't guzzle 6x more fuel than is necessary?

thise things have polluted the streets of vancouver... biggest rip off imo... 16k base here in canada for a glorified moped on 4 wheels.
no thanks... not to mention its a death trap.

hahaha, but if you want a small car and you have the money, sure why not. anythings better than a H2

i'd buy a toyota echo before a smart car if i was in the small car market... bout 4k less and double the car.
smart car is way overpriced.

I just got back from the Smart Convention that happened here in the UK this weekend. My mate has a Smart (fourtwo) I have a Roadster (For those that dont know: http://images.google.co.uk/image… )
They're fun cars to drive (particularly mine)...
Has he considered getting a Smart Roadster? ;)

You think $16k is outrageous, check out this auction on eBay
2002 Smart Two Cabrio
Early adopters love to pay through the nose.

they were going to bring it over and start distributing them here by next year but DaimlerChrysler backed out. they even had a website promoting SMART cars in the US. it's too bad, i was looking forward to them.

nothing pulls babes more then a tiny car....

Sweet, that's just like mine, different colour, same rims :)

I agree about the Toyota suggestion. Toyota is making great cars. Our family has had three, 1 for 4 years, one for 3, and one for 6 and not a single repair, plus they are affordable. Even our v6 camry is pretty good with gas, I can only imagine how much more efficient somehting like the echo would be.
