a heartbreaking work of staggering genius by Dave Eggers is an easy fun read.
notes from the underground by Dostoevsky is another good one. Maybe not for holidays though.

nick, i've read most of murakami's book.
i am reading ishiguro's The Unconsolded, but i've been having a hard time to really get into.

tk, whats your fav out of them all? i've only read the wind up bird chronicles and norweigan wood.
also, Atlas Shrugged or The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand are 2 that will change your outlook on life if you haven't read those yet

yes, Ayn Rand books are pretty good though it kinda gets very preachy, especially Atlas Shrugged. I loved Fountainhead though.
my fav murakami is Hard Boiled Wonderland.

i definitely hear that... i mean she managed to include her full university thesis in Atlas Shrugged :p
The Fountainhead is one of my favs of all time though
