I've been trying to figure this out for a while and I'll probably end up taking my laptop to the service place, but suggestions are appreciated.
I have a laptop that runs WinXP, and two computer that run Win98. I can manage to get the 98 computers connected in a network with the internet (high-speed) working on both of them at the same time. But the laptop doesn't seem to connect to the internet. Does it just need a separate IP address?
Thanks.

it should, but go into control panel into internet settings and be sure that it is using the LAN connection to connect, good luck.

Hmm..well...I'll have to find all this out beforehand I guess, so I'll ask my brother (he's trying to make it work) and see if we can do anything first. Then I'll come back and fill everyone in.

Connect your laptop up, go to that start menu in windows and select 'run'
Then type 'cmd' and press enter
then type 'ipconfig' and press enter.
What does it return as the IP address?
