i've recently got a 20 inch apple display to use with my laptop.
sometimes it decides to turn off. but it isn't just 'sleeping' because it will fade on and off, like it's trying to stay on but can't.
does anyone know why this might be happening?
is there some setting i have wrong somewhere?

fade on and off steady like a pulse?
it's fine. it's in energy saver mode i believe.

i don't think it is...
i have my energy saver set to something like 1.5 hours.
but this happens sometimes within 5 minutes of plugging it into my computer.

Energy saver works different on laptops, when plugged to a battery or not. maybe is that?
Does it only happens on your 20inch display or it also happens on your pb?

just happens to the external display, not the one on my laptop.

it's not just the power light, the whole screen blinks, and it's in no pattern.

i wonder if the touch on / off button isn't picking up some heat from my laptop?
but if that's the case why doesn't the brightness go up and down too....?
