Does anyone know where I can find either some tutorials or some help with it? I currently act as webmaster for a department within my college, and we have a login page, and for some reason it took a shit. I am trying to figure out whats wrong, but my expierence in ASP is very minimal. Thanks guys.

i'm awesome with .net. if you can explain the problem, i might be able to help you.

the problem is when users go to http://www.east.asu.edu/jacmet/a… and login, the login.asp page redirects to the minutes.asp page. The code on the login.asp page looks fine to me, but I am thinking there is something wrong with the minutes.asp page. There is code on the minutes.asp page as well, but when users login via the admin.html a page error occurs. thanks!

Is it asp, or asp.net ?

...Not that I can help with either :)

ok...so admin.html posts to login.asp? and what error is produced?
- grafholic0
yeah...good call thismanslife.
anyway what does the error say?

i just noticed that you have two form tags...if the login functionality is really in .NET (the file extension suggests it in classic asp), then there's a problem. .NET only allows one form per page.

a http 500 internal server error occurs after a user trys to login. it goes to the correct page (webapp.east.asu.edu/jacmet/logi... one of my professor said it is likely a problem with the page the login.asp is trying to redirect to.

ok, i just recieved confirmation that it is asp.

sounds like you've got friendly HTTP errors turned on in your browser...you'll need to turn those off to get a meaningful error.
need help turning them off?
- grafholic0
studderine, you need to remove "friendly HTTP error" to get the actual server error.
go to Tools-Internet Option and go to the advanced tab. Remove selection on "show friendly HTTP error", apply, ok.
then try causing the error again.
