ok so i do not have an apple so i do not even know anything about this. but my coworker has a airport and mac laptop, and she just got another pc laptop trying to get it on the airport network. she said she sees the wireless network on the pc laptop, and clicks on it and enters her password but it does not connect. is there anything special you have to do? i thought the airport was just a normal wireless thing.

this does work, I have it working
make sure the WEP password etc are all right....

its very buggy
apple + apple = works
apple + orange = not always

would the WEP password be the passoword that she types in when she clicks on the little airport icon on her powerbook up by the clock?

(Jun 22 05, 07:37)Apple is easy. Is tcp/ip that is the most complicated thing born from human mind. And wireless is tcp/ip.

tcp/ip is easy. its the wireless connectivity
mind you this problem happens with alot of wireless products.
when they are made by different company, they dont like to talk to each other that well.

I have never had a problem hooking up a pc or a mac to a wireless network. I have had many problems hooking a pc up to an airport network. it sucks and costs double.

routing pcs and macs isnt the easiest thing.
i have a linksys wireless router, i was completely talked out of the airport or airport express by a mac dealer because of price vs. what it does.
there are several router options that i have to set on the router control panel to be able to access it with a pc, as well with the pc, you have a preferred network list and your network needs to be at the top of the list... even still, my girls laptop gets booted from the network from time to time.
airport has no control panel, so it may be a bit harder to set up with pcs... i'm sure there is documentation... to me the airport express is for a small space, mac user, with one machine...
