Dude, I feel for you...my collection means the world to me. It's also one of the main reasons I have renters insurance. Can you pin the responsibiltity on anyone to replace your stuff?

Bummer!
Had a simialr thing happen to me when my upstairs neighbor's apartment caught fire...lots of water and smoke in my place.
Try ironing the books page by page, or a few pages at a time...it's tedious, but I was able to recover a lot books that way.

how much for all the books, apart from maybe 2?
- Jaline0
That sucks! *ahem* the worst is when it happens to books you don't even own. Thankfully, I paid for everything in university so the water stuff doesn't matter too much anymore like it did in high school.
I know how you feel. It hurts when something you really kept nicely gets ruined.

make him eat the books page by page. bruce lee style.

(Jun 16 05, 15:04)My parents are mean. They've done stuff equivalent to what you've described above, which is why I hide my really nice stuff. Otherwise, they'll think something is too violent or graphic for my siblings, and throw my stuff away.
If they were to really throw away anything I really valued, I'd probably cry.

Thanks everyone.
My friend was suggesting the same thing, ironing the pages. I iron my shirts crappy so I am kinda scared.
I will try tomorrow perhaps. most of them are pretty dry now and I found some large flat pieces of wood and I have a few of them clamped down, we will see how that turns out.
I am not selling all of them as it turns out some are not ad bad as I thought. Theres probably 3 or 4 Ill try to replace. The guy came down later and said wed talk later on in the week about it and see what we can do once I see the condition of the book.
*crosses fingers*"
Nick I feel your pain. Grid System's was not looking too good earlier, and thats one of my favourites.
