nope but my really good friend lives near Burlington, he's a Democrat State representative. Someday he'll be in Washington, he comes from old English blue blood and money.

first i'm looking for a good restaurant, taking a good friend out. the only place i knew was the waiting room. something of that caliber.

I live close to burlington, Montpelier to be exact...Camel's hump would make a nice hike for you...if you want to see some nature...Higher Ground is usually a good venue for music...Hit Church Street for eats/drinks....

whats up with red square cafe?
- speed_d0
been a while since I've been in there...If I remember correctly they sometimes have live music...good place to go for drinks though

and i know church street, but everyones saying all of these asian places to go, five spice, bankok bistro whatev, but i can get slammin thai/asian food here. i want some vermont fresh shit. has anyone been to the neci?

try The Single Pebble...It's Chinese food, but like nothing you've had before...it's right near Church Street....YUMMY!
Never been to NECI myself...but have heard good things

neci is good but service isn't always great. red square is usually a safe bet for music and a lively crowd. radio bean and muddy waters are great little coffee houses. asian food is relatively big here i guess, and single pebble & pacific room are worth checking out. if you're not into that vermont pub and brewery has great beer.

the french cafe--name is escaping me--on the main walking path in dwntwn burlington is great. it's on the corner and has several hens in it's decor...
if you have a car and can get up to montgomery--it's not that far--the black lantern inn (a B&B) has a fabulous restaurant--reservations are a must.

how far is montgomery?

i think you meain leunigs...which is pretty good. penny cluse is another spot that is fantastic for breakfast though sometimes an hour+ wait on the weekend.
