Scribbly lines

Right, doing some media in flash. I'm using multiple scribbly lines (drawn using the pen tool) and my swf is coming out at 150K +. The lines are using 125k of that.
The fla is only 35k.
Anyone ever come accross this problem? Any idea how to get round it other than using lots of little gifs instead?

have you tried instances of a few different lines and deformed them?
if this doesnt help some of the compression tools for swfs will really get it down if the vectors are what is causing the problem. I haven't used one in a while but flashkit.com used to have them.

Cheers Undo, just been reading up in it. Its the way the pen tool is broken into thousends of straight line vectors.
Just using tiny gifs and masking now. Much smaller files sizes that way.

have you tried creating the lines in Illy and then importing??
not sure if that would break up the lines too

To be honest, non aliased gifs are giving me a nicer scrathy effect. illy would be too smooth. And I do have fuck all file size to play with. (4k for the lines in lots of different places)
