is it safe to say there will be no improvements on the powerbook this year?
I need to buy a new mac now... just want to hold off if they increase the memory or something?

you know you can't do that on your own right.
you'll need to wait until it comes standard with 2ghz. AT LEAST. or they are worthless.

(Jun 15 05, 09:05)Apple recently increased the processor speed by a teeny-tiny bit. I assume no plans to revise the G4 model for a while, I guess Apple are trying to figure out how to make a G5 PB that won't melt when you switch it on!

if you absolutely must buy now, at least get it refurb or used... it would be silly to pay full price with everything changing to Intel.
and be prepared for little/ zero resale value. the used market is gonna be flooded with PowerPCs very soon.

interesting. wheres my best bet.. ebay? Thing is how much less are people going to be selling for? they are pretty good price new.

check daily on apples site. click the store and scroll down to the right hand side red 'save' image. or whatever.
they have deals there. save 300-500 on a puter. i'm not sure however you can build the system to your specs or not. (add ram).
ebay may be a better bet. with any luck you can find one already beefed up.
