ehmn probably not, anatomy is a bit too weird for him but the style sure looks influenced by him
you should check out the animated movie Angel's Egg if you like that style, no speech, 20 years old by now i think, but very impressive

thanks linearch, been re-reading my Lone Wolf and Cub Series and then I find these pix...just weird.
I guess the artist is Aya Kato.
