I think that hippo/dog record to the whale is pretty convincing transitional evidence. It was a photo from one of Discipler's sites. http://www.answersingenesis.org/…
Is look like a dog thing turning into a whale thing.

"can you give me one example of a mutation resulting an increase in genetic information capable of producing a new mechanism"
is often asked by creationists

But there are moths that have evolved to have grey, black wings so they blend in with the ash near some industry. I saw on PBS a long time ago.

Mm.. it was during the latter stages of the industrial revolution, here in Blighty. The lighter coloured moths stood outmore and where hence easier for birds to spy and eat. After this, the otherwise slightly-deviant darker moth became a dominant sub-species in cities.
You don't need to look far for evidence of evolution - even in humans. Look at how sickle [sp?] cell anaemia and tolerance to Malaria. Or groups of HIV-resistant nigerian women who are passing on the trait to their young.
Evolution is just plain logical - feckless belief isn't.

those moths were stapled to the trees that they wanted
Thats not evolution, thats just survival of a certain breed within a species. there is no extra information, just a selection between pigment.
- Nairn0
And when that 'certain breed' further sub-divides?
- breadlegz0
creationists beleive in evolution within a species. thats how you get all the variations of dog and cat.
But not evolution into a different species. i.e monkey to man
- Nairn0
I think the problem is wit htis whole 'belief' thing. It's too darn easy.
it'd be nice if 'creationists' actually put aside their expectations and try and confound themselves. That's what science does.
- Anyway, I'm not going down this road - I just get annoyed that there are so many WRONG people in the world.
*cough :P

i think faith is quite difficult actually.
just ask those that get persected in many countries for what they beleive.
- Nairn0
In the context of understanding the world about, the easier option is to believe in faery tales.
- breadlegz0
its not beleiving in a fairy tale, its beleiving Gods word.

Having edited and re-written umpteen responses to that...
... I can't be bothered.
Let's agree to disagree.
I just hope you don't get too much of a say in teaching everyone else's kids.
