a client i have needs to be able to forward the email provided by their hosting company to another email, such as hotmail.
is this generally do-able?
which hosts will allow this?am i being a total n00b?

there should be an option in the admin panel where it will allow you to forward all incoming messages to that email address to the hotmail one

your setup might be similar, with mine, there's a 'forward' feature that once enabled, you can list down email addresses that you want the mails to be forwarded too

which hosting company is your client with and do you have access as admin?

who do you use?
i know i can do this with (mt) but i think it's a bit expensive for what my client needs (basically a splash page).

all hosts should be able to, you can even forward gmail.

oh, see, my client doesn't have a hosting company yet.
i want to make sure that the one they sign up with will allow forwarding...
