Why not concrete? What else are you supposed to make a patio out of? Maybe a texured rock like deck?
iDp, I say we skip the illos and just cruise over to R&R and wreck shop. We can probably incapacitate 2 designers, 1 secretary, the whole "marketing" department and light at least 3 BMWs on fire before the cops get there...

Concrete is pretty much standard out here. It's stays a bit cooler than most materials I assume as well as the fact that wood doesn't stand up very well to the hot dry climate.
No golf course..it goes, my backyard, small street, lil park.
