how and where did you get it printed? did you use digital press, or offset? CMYK or Pantone? What stock? How much did you pay? What was your run?
A lot of questions, I know- I'm just trying to gauge other people's experiences with business cards and getting them printed. thanks

i got mine done here:
www.postcardpress.comthey did a top notch job and the quality was great!

I'd go with http://www.copycraft.com they are out of Lubbock, TX ... best I've seen... they are exact, use high end digital japanese presses at 300 line screen.

Anyone know a good letterpress printer?

got mine here

Do they send you a proof? How do you know what they look like or the quality of the print? Print is so tactile and has many variables that can make it look bad if done wrong.

mine are frosted plastic - round corner 2 color.
they look awesome
if you were part of the print exchange you got one.
- radar0
yeah spenndog, I like your card. Usually not a fan of transparent card, but the ink coverage and only the letters being transparent is nice.
Shit you probaly have to round the corners so you don't cut people with those.
- spendogg0
thanks radar - did you get the red one or the black one?
round corners are key - and I got poked a few times.
ouch
- jevad0

- radar0

- spendogg0
Yeah Nic - there is a company called foils and dies/Vintage Press Works they are on Tejon. 303.623.4141 - they do awesome work.
If you are looking for invitations and stuff like that - two hands paper in Boulder does good work as well

spenddogg - was going to email and ask about your card. it's so nice.
my card is offset litho 2 color/double sided- 100lb cover domtar feltweave natural stock.
done locally because i'm a lil picky when it comes to paper.
- spendogg0
thanks anti - i like your card - although i am not a big fan of feltweave it works great with your design.
I love the blind emboss touch on your print, you should incorporate that into your materials - such an understated statement.
I got cards printed at a local place that does an amazing job printing on plastic - it took me soooooo long to find these guys and they ended up being so close.

It is funny cuz the samples they hand out are so bad - until i started having stuff done with them - like 90% of their samples are my stuff.
- ThreeSevenFive0
Anti,
Where locally? Here in AZ.
- spendogg0
Yeah brian they are the best in the country - if i can afford it that is where i go.
- antigirl0
hey thanks.. :)
yeah i designed the card to be cream colored, so when i found that paper i knew it was the one and loved the texture. i think it works okay. but now i am trying to get my site to have the same color / feel as my cards and my proposals.. ( http://www.antigirl.com/2005_pro… )
thanks for the link. how much did you end up paying for those cards? and how many were done? when it first came out of the package, i was like woah he sent me a card you'd give to a good client. hahah.
to the other az : i got it done at the one and only capitol litho. been in business for over 50 yrs or soemthing crazy like that. if you go there - talk to chris - he's awesome and thinks it's fun to work with artist, because usually he is doing jobs and making quotes for stuff in the thousands and ten thousands so when he hears you only need 100 of something, he thinks it's pretty fuckin funny.

Did all you guys go digital press? No one used offset spot color printing?
