This is ridiculous. I love his work, and I'm very saddened by the fact that he has to resort to something not in his field to make a living.
Especially if he is jsut as passionate as I am, it's incredibl;y difficult.
If anyone was to make a site, in orde to make donations to help support me I would thank them for the care adn kind gesture, and ask them to take it offline right away.

if your friend needed some money, rather than give him a few bucks, would you say sorry, a tsunami victim needs my five bucks more? When you go into a restaurant, do you not tip the waiter because a tsunami victim needs it more? More likely you don't give any to the tsunami victim either. and spend it on a latte

no matter how genuine and heartfelt the cause, there are always negative assholes that take a dump on anything in sight. that is a real shame.
this is a good idea so props to dinky. kodap has been here for a long time and many people know ohim as a geniunely good guy. those who want to help him, they should. those who don't should go do something else.
having said that, giving people cash is tricky. some people feel weird about receiving cash. another idea is to collect a few bucks and buy something nice for kodap. not because he needs money but because he is down. and as friends, a small gesture will help lift his spirits.
and sometimes spirit is all that matters.

rand, dinky, gorbie, nothing's wrong. there is absolutlely nothing wrong with helping out a designer or a friend. and yes, i would also spend my money on a latte first, and yes i would help my friends first too.
but doesn't it make you think of people in (other) need too then? i mean, if u can spare a buck for koda, u can spare one for the tsunami folks too can you? that's all i'm saying.

helping a friend that we care about, it's just as simple as that.
you can share your music, fonts, clip art, source files with fellow NTers, then why not a dollar?

the thing is that kodap myself, gorbie and others have been in here for yrs .. and it has become a gay virtual friendship, so when i see a friend in need, i wouldnt mind chipping in.
mind you i hope to do this for others but like you said there is no fairness. so i am doing it to help out a friend
