mwahahahaaa!!! it should be $1000000 (and i didn't start this, i think it's a jazx standard).

luo, geocities sez: Sorry, this site is temporarily unavailable!

um yes u need to sort your URL^
wot he said

and you can only figure out what to charge if you roughly know what you want to make.

that always happens with geocities for some reason!if too many people look@the site it then shuts down4an hour r 2. its gonna be about a 5page site, bit of flash animation etc. any guidelines would be a big help! cheers

JazX standard for sure.

i knew it cosmo :)
anyways, i seriously suggest hosting your work somewhere else where this doesn't happen luo.
right, you're a student so that's why you can't charge the full price (imo), quality of your work has influence as well (but i can't see it so dunno). i also dunno what the day rates are over where you live but i think if you divide it by half you should have the max. you can charge per day.
depending on the design i'd say you need a couple of days, 3 max. multiply that with your dayrate and that's your offer. the dude's sure gonna bargain w/ you so i'd say keep to the max so you can go down a little. another thing make sure you're clear w/ your client w/ what you're exactly gonna do. if you don't do it, your client's gonna expect about a 1000 proposals. not cool. so work that out before you start.

Charge an arm.
..and then a leg for the updates.

How much of your time are you gonna spend on it?

thanks for the advice rabattski-i know i sud have my portfolio hosted somewhere else but at the moment i seriously can't afford it! maybe i will be able to after i get paid for doin the site ;-) ha

will prob end up spending a couple of weeks on it cos i'm on my work placement at the moment so am working full time during the week (and am not exactly gettin paid which sux!)
- rabattski0
that sucks. but then again you're learning from it right?
i think you can do it in 2 weekends, so that'll take you 2 weeks. make sure you got an ok on the concept / sketches (and structure if possible).

yup am learning from it-broke tho! but sure it's "all about the experience" as they say! ya hopefully it wont take too long to get done
if it turns out well will let ya know the final result. thanks again
