Anyone know of a way to embed a link in an animated gif file? I've got an ad going to a site which is requesting .gif files with "active target URLs"...
I've always just sent the banner and told the site where to link it to in the past...and it doesn't seem to make sense that a .gif file could contain HTML links, but them I'm a print designer and this might be a piece of cake?
Thanks for any help/suggestions.

you want the animated gif to link to another site?
just use a normal link tag.

no – the site that's running the banner ad wants a .gif file with the link embedded... can I bury a simple link tag within the .gif file? I know they can just apply the link to the gif file when they place it on their site, but they want it to come in with the link already activated – I can't send an .html file...

impossible.... the only way to have a link on a gif file is with an href...the file itself does not have any links...the only thing that can do that on the web is a swf....

Are they expecting a .swf with clickTags embedded?

Thanks Liquid, that's what I thought – I think this is a case of shitty specs from the website. They must be referring to just the .swf files when they request embedded links, although that request seems to relate to all banner files...
Cool, so I'm not just missing some simple option in Imageready!
Appreciate the help.
