I'd be interested to hear your thoughts Dinky - whatever they may be.....
I remember it so well....we were having afternoon tea at the cricket club in hong kong when a correspondent came in and told everyone what was happening - that the troops had invaded the square.
I remember thinking how fucked up it was - even at 15 - that the chinese government were willing to kill their own people.
If only the students had succeeded in their cause....

I don't agree with everything the Chinese government does, levels of censorshp, etc. especially Tiananmen Sq. but at least the government is upfront and honest about ther agenda.

I was three years old when it occurred and I really had no real knowledge of it until I read a novel about it in grade 9. It's a terribly sad part of history.

Yeah, it was terribly sad moment of history. I do think China is changing though. Not nessecarily all for good, but changing for sure.
