I still haven't figured out why there is still spam on the internet?
Every internet user knows about alt+F4 and that clickin on an AD will bring DOOM, also well, I can't think of anything....

Well, just like viruses come back in different forms to attack computers and virus scanners stop them, it's all just a vicious circle. Sort of like how there will always be good and evil for there to be balance in the world. New forms of spam will always be around, and there will always be new internet users or people who still don't have a clue as to what pop-ads are (ie. my parents).
Sometimes my parents think I am illegally purchasing items online, just because there are little ads around a page. It's weird.
Yeah, I'm just rambling now.

it's an automated thing. there's no one on the other side.
i think the point is not that you're going to fall for it, but creating as many chances as you can of getting really important info like passwords, cc accounts, and maybe a sucessful hosting in some unprotected machine.

1 in 10 clicks the URL in a spam email, 1 in 50 actually buys something.
That's a pretty fucking sweet deal if you toss out 200 million emails / week and it's never going to stop. Ever.

i'm refusing to believe 1/10 click it...

I don't buy the 1-in-10 or 1-in-50, but the fact remains that there *are* more than enough people ignorant enough to make spamming a huge industry and, no, it will never go away.
