Go and see it - it's fucking GREAT!
Heath Ledger, who I have always thought was a terribly weak and contrite actor...is brilliant as the drunken skip.
Man alive it made me miss my skate punk days...

Whats the soundtrack treatment like? Is it dead kenedys or decendants or modern hiphop music/feel?
I say the other dogtown flick with sean penn narration and found it to be more hype then anything else.
Nothing beats watching an old Santaz Cruz video or H-Street for a flashback to the good old days of skateboarding.

i don't know how you can call the dogtown documentary 'hype'...it is what it was...they laid the foundation for modern skateboarding - the attitude, and the spirit. bless em
the soundtrack is awesome - all tunes from the times...bit of black flag, floyd, hendrix, rod stewart even! lol
- swollenelbow0
yeah, watch the actual original documentary, much better.
- jevad0
watch em both - the documentary is good but it doesn't really show how fucked up alva and adams got on it all...

i always seemed to miss out on what was to be the cool thing of the day.
when my friends started playing soccer i picked up a set of jarts.
when my buddies all got freestyle bikes as a kid i got a brown huffy mountain bike.
when my buddes skated, i was the loser who tried to keep up on rollerskates.
all of which got me beat up more than i care to remember.

here here for hensley. the whole new plan b thing is a shame.
- jdcomba0
those h-street videos are out on dvd now. same with old plan b videos.

haha skaters
we had sneaker pimps this weekend and as one of the organizers there i stood in front of the door all of a sudden these little skate punks showed up...
they couldnt get in because it was it was press only that night...now they started callin me and my buddies fake skaters because i was wearing a vans shirt(though is used to skate)
funnily one of belgian top skaters from the nineties is on of the mates standing me...they didn't know;totally showed no respect..so he did some tricks...and then the little fool said ..yeah but i'm a real skater i have a tony alva deck...those little skate punks are the new chavs...totally no respect...
- jdcomba0
fuck those little guys. they don't know shit.
- tank0
true.
and then they were begging cigarettes of me...after al the insults...yeah right.
- jdcomba0
little kids have no respect. they just skate and know nothing about it's roots. aaaah whatever it's not even worth it. just ignore them. when you see them call them little shits. and the whole vans shirt thing, just make shit up they don['t know. say you co own vans. hahahahahhahahha. motherfuckers.

i was all against this flick at first and then i saw it a few months ago... great movie.
the documentary is great but its just all facts, LODT puts a story behind the facts.
and the fact that someone like Tony Alva has been a major part in the making of this flick i think its pretty close to the reality of it all... although I could have done without johnny knoxville in it.
as jevad said.... go see it!
- jdcomba0
don't you think though that alva and those guys are kinda like washed up and they really want to make themselves look like sooooo crazy. and they did that throught this movie. in the skate movie chlorine you can kinda see these guys mindset.
