the print shop is probably closed now so I will have later today to work on it.
thanks

i think justified would look great with this design, but i'm nervous about the time you have to work on it.
- piperboytoy0
does the justified text look really bad? :(
- piperboytoy0
yeah I guess so. I will play with the text a bit to get it looking good.
thanks all for your help

if it's a rush, i whole-heartedly agree with dippy. Force justified is only for when you have the time to work with the copy and even then, it's only for people with patience or who enjoy dealing with it.

Justified text wreaks havoc on word-spacing. And using soft-returns throughout the entire document will be a pain.
To me, the only advantage you get with justified text is neatness. But you lose a lot on readability. And your columns start looking really boring.

I'm not against the one page number, I would just be consistent throughout the program on all the bleed pages having one page number.

I am open to anything, but I have to send this off to get proof read soon. I kind of like justified text. :(
- piperboytoy0
I have to full page bleed photos that has numbers on the one side. do you think that is consistant enough? I really want this to look good.
- dippy0
Me personally, I'm okay with the spread that radar is talking about (pgs 16 and 17). But I guess you could go either way on that.
Is there any way that I can talk you out of justifying all your text? ;)
- radar0
the easiest way is take 8 pieces of paper and staple the spine the go through and label cover, pgs. 2- 31 and back then take staples out and lay flat - you can see which pahges appear where.

piper, check your email please.
Also, if you crop to size, like radar suggests, include the bleed in the size and let the printer know that there is a 1/8" bleed all the way around.

.. i was expecting pure shite. but to be honest - and especialy if this is your first go, then fair play mate. this is a good effort.
fuckin eck.
well done
8 out of 10

also on the tenth spread I would make the image bleed all the way, it looks odd having just 1 page number and not doing it on other spreads.
- piperboytoy0
thanks mayo and radar
i made my own page numbers. how do I collate the book?
- radar0
Looks good. If you submit a PDF to the printer, I would crop it to size, most printers will add thier own crop marks to the piece.
Also you page numbers shift vertically, and you may want to collate the book as well, I would check with the printer.

soft returns would help.
- piperboytoy0
thanks mayo, I checked already.
any suggestions on the page 7 red text thing? It's the same paragraph as the black small text. I guess i can play around with it a bit.
thanks
- mayo0
hey piper, i put my comments on the original thread and don't feel like copying and pasting them here. :P

I didn't have the headlines running across before, but the title was changed and I thought it'd be easier to do it that way.
thanks, do you think the ragging is ok on the text? i'm really paranoid because I did this job for a print company and they gave me shit for bad raggin on there website.
