I have found in study at Uni that some of the older trbes of the east Nile (dating back 1000 yrs ago) would hold special shows like we have puppet shows today, using dried human and animal excrement . This was one of the first, and most primitive form of what is now termed comedy.
It is intresting that you still find the comedy and humor in human waste product in some parts of the world. I suppose we have engauged in a more meaningful and advanced form of comedy ( yes aside from Jerry Lewis).
