phew! so i'm not the only one who has cacheproblems when i update websites.
www.kulsdom.com/newsto... [jpg]but still, it is so stupid to tell clients to clean their cache and they answer 'and what about all the other visitors, they didn't clean their cache'.
if someone has a smart solution, i'm listening.

there are several things you can do to prevent this...one involves appending the date/time to the swf file name in the embed code, i believe both js and php solutions exist...you can also do this from within the swf using a container movie to load the content swf, again appending the date/time to the file name...or you could just give the swf a different name from the previous swf which you are updating which is much easier but can be a big pain in the ass depending on the scale of your project...just google that stuff and you will find plenty of pre-fab solutions

OK, now it's not working anymore :(
And what's up with the little logo? Is there anything more to get than that it symbolises NT? If there is, I don't get it.

hey instantok,
thanks, i know how to do this with variable swf names in flash.
but i still have problems with the index.html frameset css js etc.the best way so far seems to be a frameset with one blank 1px frame at the bottom, and another frame with a redirect function that points to a folder renamed v1 or v1.1 v1.2 etc etc after every update.
