ummm, just wondering, how do you do it?
Sorry, I know I should read the manual, but I am way past deadline, and my back, she hurts so much.

so where do I plug in the depth of field pass that I've rendered out of maya?

that can be so questionable. are you on mac or pc... cause it makes a big difference. Depth is basically busted on mac coming out of anything other than maya 6.5.
While I only own Maya 6 and AE 5.5 I may be a little disgruntled. In AE it crashes when manipulating certain formats like RLA. It doesn't read the depth information in normal IFF's and it can't read 16 bit IFF's. I may be wrong in some of this. But I tried and tried, and could not get satisfactory results with that combination of software. Most of it actually deals with how Maya 6 just does not render out the z-depth properly at all. Maya 6.5 for Mac fixes the problem.. but hey.. I bet you're on a PC and I just wasted your time.
