Id recommend using screwposts to bind the pages. that way you can make your own cover and pages, etc., but itd still be easy to add/take out pages, and far less time-consuming than stitch-binding. (screposts can be found at any office-supply store)

If you can get a hold of a keit smith book... then do it. comes with diagrams about the binding techniques. I know that he even has one that involves purely leather.
check it out.

a lot of copyhouses here does binding for cheap-o prices, i wouldn't go the extra mile by doing it myself (and get frustrated along the way).

i really don't want to use a readymade book. i'm good enough at constructing things that my piece will look really sexy.
i think i'll use a modified stab binding.
thanks for the help!

stay away from building it yourself. you'll regret it in the long run. there's tons of inexpensive leather books out there.
definitely look at pina zangaro...
google it, i'm not sure what the site is.

so i'm making a leatherbound book (my portfolio), and am looking for some ways to bind the pages; different types of spine, etc.
anyone know of any resources with this sort of thing, or know of any good ways to bind a book yourself?
