Can anyone give me any info on .mpc format audiio files, specifically what to use to play them and also what to use to convert to .mp3 if possible?
Thanks.

It is based on the MPEG-1 Layer-2 / MP2 algorithms.
Used much by samplers like AKAI. You can convert with a number of different tools. Sony Sound Forge, etc.

Thanks.
Soundforge was the first thing I tried, it won't open the files am I missing a plugin?
If so where would be the best place to get it from?
Cheers for the reply, I'm not an audio person and I'm still nursing a bank holiday hangover, good having an extra day off sick but not a pretty sight at the minute...

MusePack (MPEG Plus) MPC audio files is what they seem to be. There are so many audio formats these days it's sick.
Check http://www.downloads.com and type in 'MPC to WAV'. You'll want to work with .wav or .aiff

Also while I'm here, I was converting ogg vorbis files to mp3 using soundforge yesterday, it was fine doing a single file at time but it came up with error 'mp3 not available' when I tried to batch process, any ideas what I may have been doing wrong?

batch converting is sticky with SF. I had problems in the past too, maybe it's your CPU?
