hello everyone,
this might seem really obvious to some, but I am a student and still learning stuff in photoshop so my skills are a little rusty. I am working on a website that sells plush toys (teddies and stuff) online. I have taken some shots of the products (most of them white/grey fur) against a black background with great lighting. I wanna get rid of the background so I just have just the product and no backgound in the pic. I have been using the magic wand tool to get rid of this but it leaves some back pixels round the edges, is there a better way to do this or a better tool? Thanks for your help :)

use the pen tool, go around, then hit ctrl enter.
pen tool takes practice.

If they're really furry you might want to use some feather.
Or, you can play around with Select > Color range...

Use your wand tool, delete the black as you have before and then go to Layer>Matting>defringe.
If you want a better result, use the pen tool or Filter>Extract and see how you go with that.

This might help. Especially for the furry part. http://www.gurusnetwork.com/tuto…

create a path and use the pen tool. if the background is an extremely different colour to the object then use the background eraser tool. (hidden under the eraser) and play with the settings
