asheville, nc is the home town of author Thomas Wolfe (not to be confused with current Tom Wolfe)... anyway his historic home was damaged by fire a couple of years ago. Henry Rollins donated 10 grand to help have it restored.
his movie crit show on IFC channel is quite entertaining as well.

I've seen him a dozen time. first when he sang for Black flag in the early eighties then over the years doing spoken word. My wife knows him from the old 9:30 club in DC., they use do do Tai Chi before the doors opened. "family man, family man... first on the block with your chritmas lights on..." two bruised thumbs way up.

I like Black Flag.
I think his spoken word stuff is hilarious. He's got great stories to tell.
I don't like the ROllins band so much.
He's be one person I'd like to meet. I really like his intensity.

I liked Black Flag, not so much his new stuff or spoken word.

I always like Henry as a writer/observer of life than his singing abilities.
He's got great musical taste though...

Saw one of his spoken word gigs about a year and a half ago. It was enjoyable.

what happened to the religion thread.
I like HR's spoken word also.. havent heard since the 90's tho.

it was on an old spoken word, sometime in the mid 90's. He tears them apart.
Funny thing, the show was in Ireland and everyone was falling out of their seats laughing.

I'd like to hear it.
I'm a fan of early U2 - Joshua Tree is simply a classic.
Modern day Bono is weird tho... he seems to pompus to be real, but then I havent met him so I can't say.
