printing stroke question

whats the smallest stroke size most printers can print with out filling in. it would be white lines on a black background.

i'd like to know this too. I think it depends on the lpi that the particular printer is capable of.

Really.
I had made my share of assumptions and recommended solutions by other designers. But you never know until the people who actually make the print are confirming it. Safest way to go about it, plus you get on good terms with them cuz they just l o v e having designers asks for their opinion ;-)

Depends on the printer and how its being printed, just ask them...

the usual 'safe' keyline is 'hairline' which is .25pt. it mainly depends on the screen ruling. (and how good or shite the printer is with registration).
check with the printer though as you may need to go to .5pt, especially if it's reverse.
the printer will be able to tell you.
