for the first time i have just fallen victim to a card cloning scam on an atm.
It all seems so obvious now, but at the time i didnt think about:a- the odd looking front on the machine
b- the guy who was peering right over me as i turned around
The fucking bastard, i'm getting pangs of rage about it and i want to wander the streets of london until i find the c*nt
Sorry

have you informed the relevant authorities? and have they given you totally shit feedback that doesn't help one little bit, by any chance?

(May 25 05, 07:31)wish I had a link, but I heard about this recently, add on bits on ATMs that record your number or something - thought it was a pisstake at first...
- paddywop0
they placed a board of the same material over the real bit where you put your card in etc, with all the right slits and bits and even the braille labels to mark the bits for blind people.
I've just been back there and the whole board thing is gone. The adhesive stickers they used to stick it on are there for all to see.

Hopefully the area's covered with CCTV and the Polis might've some pictures of the bastards...
...I take it you contacted your CC provider straight away? If you're insured, and there's evidence to back up your claim (ie plenty) you 'should' be ok. If not, start an abusive mail/web campaign against the Post Office 'til they succumb and pay you back. (!)
s'Funny, the CC machine outside the Post Office across the road is the dodgiest looking motherfucker you've ever seen... and is apparantly, genuine.

i saw this exact same thing happen on an episode of C.S.I
the dude had a card reader infront of the reader attached to the machine and he had a lil spy cam on the right side inside a lil brochure holder...he eventually got caught cuz he sped away and crashed into a car
- Nairn0
