I am trying to join points.
"to join, you must select two open endpoints"
what I am doing wrong?
- swollenelbow0
check your illustration/desgin again, you may be trying to join poits already joined...it's not a big issue, just double check which your are joining...
zoom in.

that's common. sometimes they are already auto-connected by another action.
check that first.

and use Smart Guides, much easier to work

check corners by using "apple+Y" or "ctrl+Y"

select the points and push j?

happens all the time...
use smart guides, i like em

when i get that warning im usually trying to connect points that belong to the same compound path.
if you select all your paths and go
object>compound path>release
that should make them independent, and thus 'joinable'might be a different case tho..
