When you're learning something new with web stuff, and you've managed to combine a few things, learn something new quickly, etc. that you didn't know how to do five minutes before, do you get excited and pump your fist, or smile, or what? Does anyone else clench their first and kind of move their arm tightly like a golfer who just nailed a long putt?
I just figured out some of this scrolling div css crap to replace iframes, and while not all that difficult, I realized that all my tinkering was not showing up simply because I hadn't saved the css file yet.
Saved it, viewed the HTML and presto! there's everything working I'd been trying at for an hour.

i get that way at times when i finally get a server configured soundly.
like finally getting samba+ldap+mysql to work properly for domain control on a windows client network. and, then successfully migrating all existing nt 4 user accounts to the new server(s).
that was a good time. i drank a beer afterwords.

I usually wish I could take a swing at a pinata filled with peanut M&M's and millions of them would fall on my, making a mountain in my office.

got a good tutorial link for that scrolling div?

I get this feeling when I write a script in AS, JS, or PHP and it works right from the start.
Also, everytime I assemble a PC, whether it's a new one or I'm using old parts, I'm positively surprised that it actually works and displays something on the monitor when i turn the power on

man, it's so easy!

I'm combining several things together, but really having fun with this. I'm always pumped to learn something new.
Been reading the Zen Garden book and while not totally technical, it's inspiring to see so much good work and get ideas from it.

divs don't scroll with mouse wheel in today's firefox :(
- mg330
Didn't know that.
Actually what I'm trying to get it to work for is the site I'm redesigning where I work. More than 50% of our viewers are IE so I'm not too terribly worried about FF at the moment.

shaft, that what I was actually more interested in. Scroll wheel-able. I guess iframes would still be the best? Yes?

i had that feeling today :)
i coded my first completely xhtml/css standards compliant site and it actually works nicely cross browser. hell, like 10 people ever will visit the site, but i felt like i wasn't doing it right if i didn't try for once. worked all dandy and i smiled :)(and it's 17k with images!) yay!

I feel you jpea. :)

Ha ha, i tend to get that feeling from css too, usually cos i have been srtuggling with it for hours, on the solution is obvious... so yep i do.
:)
Also get finishing a good illustration, possibly more so.

yeah.. i did that today. I'm teaching myself AE and when you hit that play button and it does exactly what you want it's such a nice feeling.
of course that feeling is always outnumbered by the times you test something and it isn't at all what you wanted. funny how the clenched fist happens during the best and worst moments.
