I just saw this..pretty amazing use of two seperate APIs. A little slow but worth the wait if you are looking in a certain area..
and yeah, it uses craigslist..but check it..

I hate to say it, but you won't find a studio apartment in Manhattan for under $1000. Maybe in Queens, and very few parts of Brooklyn.
Your best best is Staten Island, Bronx, or Queens.

Actually, you may be able to find sublet's. That tends to be cheaper, or you could look at the UES, or Harlem. Anywhere else, and you'll have to end up paying $1000+ for a studio, unless you want a crampy East Village apartment thats about 300sq feet.

I would say look into Brooklyn or LIC over manhatten. Unless your looking to spend $1000 for a studio box or a multiple share.
Also check out Chinatown.
imo craigs is the best resource. dunno what else u will find online tho.

thing is, i lived in astoria for a while and really geting sick of taking trains. i live in man i get a bike. if somewhere in brooklny i can bike to manhatan i would.

Yeah, I hear you Usrper. May friend had a really cheap apartment there on the last stop of the R/W.
It was nice until they built a nightclub under his place....
