I dont see what the big deal is with latin. I mean it's not like you're going somewhere where they speak it.
And hands down, have you ever written latin for other reasons than to cheat on your biology test when the teacher asked you to name a few flower families?

Actually knowing some latin has helped me conversate with some spanish, italian, french and portugeuse speakers...it really does help. And besides you get to find out what all that sh#t says on our money...

at my high school i had to take 5 years of latin (high school started in the 7th grade) and they only thing i learned other than the obvious latin was 'semper ubi sub ubi' which means 'always wear underwear'.

And mattyd, THAT wasn't important!? I can trhink of almost nothing moreimportant to learn in any language. Well except for "Where is my beer?" and "Where is the bathroom?". Those two are essential...

Haha Jox. For a second I thought you were talking about me.
I was going to take French this past year (b/c I wanted to develop my skills further) but a mistake happened and I ended up being forced into Latin, which NO ONE wanted to take because it's so damn hard. But I didn't realize this at the beginning. Everything was crammed into a short time period. It's weird, because it turned out to be one of my best marks in first year uni!
