how do i rip stuff from a dvd as an mpeg to your computer????

yea cus i just spend some time dealing with a "dvd copying" software but it doesnt let you make mpegs...
so mac the ripper does right

on a mac is quite easy, you need:
i use 2 programs, first DVDBackup to rip it into the computer, the i use DVD2oneXp to transform the ripped files into a video_TS folder which then u'll be able to burn with Toast.
it's not as hard as it sounds, besides i have a walkthrough pdf file, email me if you need it.

fyi though,
it's not always bad/illegal to rip a dvdif you're doing freelance video work and don't have a beta playback deck, put it on a dvd and rip it from there. comes out to high quality video for your project without all the needless expense if you can't afford high end decks:)
