Can't find one that works for Mac...I have an internet connection w/ wireless router in one room and need a hardwired solution for a second room...anyone know of anything?
Other option is to have the roommate get an Airport card for the G4 he's going to be getting rid of in a month...

and what's stopping you from just buying an access point?

I bought a Linksys one and it wouldn't work with a Mac. :(
I even called Linksys and they said that it wouldn't...dunno why since my understanding is that it pulls a wireless connection and delivers it via hardwire to the computer. I guess it's the software used to set it up.

exactly, IDP. I tried to serve up a linksys router to an imac and no diggity.
//that's why macs are the ghey.

i know belkin makes pc/mac compatible devices.
and the software is optional. just configure your networking manually.
why not get a airport express?

iDp I would suggest looking into a PC solution. They are faster and much less expensive.
Take the money you save and invest it in stocks, save it, put some away for your kids graduation, etc.

hahaha random
Sparker...I was thinking about that too with the Express...I actually have one...I called Apple and it's not capable of making a bridge either. Which I find completely ghey. Sooo it can serve info to a printer but it cant serve an internet connection to a computer...seems pretty close to apples and apples to me, but they say it's not possible.

I dont get it...what exactly are you trying to do again? Normally a bridge is used for devices that dont have any facility to add a card...but you are only trying to add the G4 to your network right? Why not get an Airport card or USB adapter? Or are you trying to build a second wired network with multiple computers, tied into to the wireless netowrk?
